LECTURER IN INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING, MANAGEMENT OF MANUFACTURING AND OPERATIONS TECHNOLOGY
The School of Mechanical, Industrial & Aeronautical Engineering invites applications for appointment at the levels of Professor, Associate Professor or Senior Lecturer.
DESCRIPTION:
Degrees in the School are internationally accredited and a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes are offered. The School has a strong team of dedicated staff and excellent facilities.
At the Professor Level, a PhD in Industrial Engineering is essential. The successful candidate would have an international profile in Management of Manufacturing and Operations Technology with a particular background in Industry 4.0. S/he would conduct and supervise research at all levels with a record of substantial research funding. The successful candidate will have a proven record of significant interactions with industry and the profession.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

At the Associate Professor Level, a PhD in Industrial Engineering is essential. The successful candidate would have a distinguished record of scholarship/teaching and be a research leader in Management of Manufacturing and Operations Technology with a particular background in Industry 4.0. S/he would conduct and supervise research at all levels with a record of substantial research funding. The successful candidate will have a proven record of significant interactions with industry and the profession.
At the Senior Lecturer Level, a PhD in Industrial Engineering is essential. The successful candidate would have a distinguished record of scholarship/teaching and be research active in Management of Manufacturing and Operations Technology with a particular background in industry 4.0. S/he would conduct and supervise research at all levels. A record of substantial research funding would be advantageous. The successful candidate will have a proven record of interactions with industry and the profession.
The successful candidate at any level will have a good knowledge of the basic material pertaining to undergraduate Industrial Engineering courses, and the background to be able to be registered as a Professional Engineer, if not already registered in South Africa.
Contributions towards excellence in research, education and professional services; academic leadership in the field of Industrial Engineering; undergraduate and postgraduate lecturing in the field of Industrial Engineering with emphasis on field research; research leadership and project supervision; active engagement with industrial partners; University administration.
